- This is an early example of the 'Freeman' series of maples that includes the 'Autumn Blaze' Maple
- Sienna was a naturally occuring cross between the red and silver maple
- Vigorous growing into a pyramidal form larger than the 'Autumn Blaze'
- More cold hardy and less prone to frost cracking than the 'Autumn Blaze'
